MIX Market is a public, web-based microfinance information platform. It provides data on microfinance institutions worldwide as well as public and private funds that invest in microfinance, microfinance networks, raters/external evaluators, advisory firms, and governmental and regulatory agencies.

The MicroBanking Bulletin (MBB) is the premier benchmarking source for the microfinance industry. Its analysis and benchmarks are widely used by investors, donors and other service providers to facilitate greater standardization and a better understanding of developments in the microfinance sector.

The Heat Map is an interactive graphical interface which uses geometric forms and colors to visualize up to three different layers of abstract data at once. The values of a chosen indicator are represented by sized and in color, their placement on the map refers to their ranking amongst peers.

We are currently accepting applications for the following positions:

Chief Information Officer
Reporting to the Executive Director, Peter Wall, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a key member of MIX’s leadership team and will own the strategic development and implementation of MIX’s worldwide technology blueprint. Located at the headquarters in Washington, DC, this executive will provide MIX with technology vision and leadership, enabling the company to further its vital role in the microfinance world and uniting all technology initiatives across the company. S/he needs to work in consolidated effort across the organization, tying together the business plan, company mission and responding to trends/needs of the industry. Equally essential to the success of this executive, MIX’s CIO must develop a strong understanding of the microfinance industry, MIX’s role/relationship to the marketplace and strong lines of communication, both internally and externally. This dialogue will enable the CIO to continually respond to market needs with relevance and innovation, while guiding the rest of the management team in related business planning. Through a combination of events including a major grant, this CIO will have the opportunity to completely redesign and implement a system for the future, incorporating the most robust new technologies to serve the needs of the industry for years to come.
